Position Title –Maintenance ManagerReports to –Plant Manager- Joe NewbyJob Description Summary –The Maintenance Manager at Cadon Plating and Coatings is responsible for leading and directing all maintenance activities within a manufacturing facility to ensure maximum equipment reliability, plant efficiency, safety compliance and production uptime.This position requires extensive experience in industrial electrical systems, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance programs and management of maintenance personnel. The Maintenance Manager develops and implements maintenance strategies that support operational goals while ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.Attribute of Employee – Must arrive at work on time and be available for all assigned dutiesMust obey all safety and company policies and procedures as required by the company, State and Federal government.Must be able to communicate effectively (verbally and written) with all levels of management and the employees in which they superviseMust be able and willing to work all hours and shifts as requiredMust be able to read and understand work instructions, equipment manualsMust be able to follow directions from managementMust be able to work and communicate effectively with others.Maintain an adequate supply of hand tools to be able to perform the job and make repairs.Essential duties and responsibilities – Effectively and efficiently supervise, maintain, and repair production equipmentDevelop, implement, and continuously improve preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance programs.Utilize CMMS systems to schedule, track and document maintenance activitiesAnalyze equipment performance data and failure trendsReduce downtime through proactive maintenance planningEstablish equipment reliability improvement initiativesWork closely with production leadership to maximize equipment downtimeRespond to equipment failures and production emergenciesPrioritize maintenance activities based on operational needsParticipate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementationEnsure compliance with OSHA, MIOSHALead lockout/tagout compliance effortsComplete all tasks required by managementReport all mechanical or safety issues promptly to managementAlways operate equipment in a safe and legal mannerAdhere to and promote safe work habits and follow all company policies, state and federal regulatory laws and procedures.Maintain and repair all company equipment as requiredEnsure equipment is operating safely and all guards are in place before returning equipment to productionLead and train employees in an effective manner to repair/replace equipment as neededDevelop and adhere to the goals and objectives of the companyExperience and Qualifications – Minimum 3 years' experience in one or more of the following maintenance fields: welding, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, or pipe fitting.Ability to adapt their skills to the company's equipmentRead and understand equipment and tech manualsThe willingness to ask for and accept additional training and the continuous effort to expand knowledge and skills through on-the-job training and technical classesPhysical requirements – Must be able to step up/down from a sit-down HiloMust be able to maneuver a sit-down Hilo using the required hand controls/steering wheel/foot pedalsMust be able to bend, stoop, squat and kneelMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsMay be required to push/pull up to 50 pounds per job assignmentWork Environment – While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical and chemical hazards, welding and grinding fumes and Hilo vehicles. The noise level in the work area is usually moderate. All individuals within the production area are required to wear safety glasses at a minimum, and it is highly recommended that hearing protection also be worn. Gloves, dust masks, grinding shields and welding protection are provided upon request. For safety requirements, lockout/tagout and confined space training and equipment are also provided.
