Salary: $130,000–$185,000+ annually, based on experience
Travel: Regular travel to nine long-term care facilities is required

Summit Healthcare Consulting is seeking an experienced Regional Clinical Compliance Officer to oversee clinical and regulatory compliance across nine long-term care facilities in Central and Southern Illinois.

This is a senior leadership position with significant autonomy. The Clinical Compliance Officer will work directly with facility and regional leadership to identify risk, strengthen clinical systems, maintain survey readiness, and support compliance with IDPH and CMS requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted Illinois Registered Nurse license

  • Skilled nursing leadership experience in a Director of Nursing, regional clinical, nurse consultant, or compliance role

  • Strong knowledge of IDPH, CMS, and long-term care regulations

  • Experience with regulatory surveys, Plans of Correction, clinical audits, and survey readiness

  • Ability to identify clinical risk and implement effective corrective action

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and travel regularly throughout Central and Southern Illinois

  • Significant experience managing IDPH surveys, compliance, and regulatory requirements in long-term care/skilled nursing.

  • Strong working knowledge of IDPH rules, regulations, and survey processes.

  • Experience preparing and writing Informal Dispute Resolutions (IDRs) and responding to survey findings.

  • Proven ability to identify compliance concerns, develop corrective action plans, and support facilities through regulatory issues.

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations and standards of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and regulatory oversight for nine long-term care facilities

  • Maintain ongoing readiness for IDPH and CMS surveys

  • Conduct clinical audits, mock surveys, and compliance reviews

  • Identify areas of risk and work with leadership to implement corrective action

  • Review survey findings, Plans of Correction, repeat deficiencies, and compliance trends

  • Support Directors of Nursing and Administrators with clinical and regulatory concerns

  • Monitor high-risk areas, including infection prevention, wounds, falls, medication management, documentation, staffing, and quality measures

  • Assist facilities during surveys, investigations, revisits, and regulatory follow-up

  • Standardize clinical policies, processes, and expectations across the organization

  • Provide education, guidance, and accountability to facility nursing leadership
