About This Role
Sunnyside Preschool & Childcare is looking for a caring, dependable, and flexible Float Teacher to join our team!
This position is perfect for someone who enjoys variety and building relationships throughout the center. As a Float Teacher, you'll work in different classrooms each week, supporting children from 4 months through 12 years of age. No two days are exactly the same, making this a great opportunity to gain experience with every stage of child development.

Schedule
- Monday-Friday
- 2:30 PM-5:30 PM
- Consistent afternoon schedule
- Availability for all five weekdays is required.
What You'll Do
- Support teachers in a variety of classrooms throughout the center.
- Supervise and engage children through developmentally appropriate activities.
- Assist with afternoon snack and daily routines.
- Change diapers and assist with toileting as needed.
- Update children's daily activities in our parent communication app.
- Communicate professionally with families during pick-up.
- Help clean, organize, and close classrooms at the end of the day.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Follow all Washington State licensing, health, and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Dependable and able to work Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM-5:30 PM.
- Current Child CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain before employment).
- Washington State Child Care Basics (30-hour course) completed or ability to complete as required.
- Current negative TB test (or ability to obtain before employment).
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Patient, flexible, and able to adapt to different classrooms and age groups.
- Meet all Washington State licensing requirements for childcare employees.

- Experience working in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
- Experience working with multiple age groups.

- Passion for early childhood education and helping children learn through play.
