Full-Time Mental Health Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team at Progressive PHP of Seaside Health System. As a Mental Health Technician, you will be responsible for providing routine and assigned tasks to assist patients with their daily needs, while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. Shift: 1:45p-10:15p

Responsibilities:

• Perform direct care duties to assist patients in maintaining personal dignity and safety (40%)

• Participate as a member of the treatment team in the implementation of the multi-disciplinary treatment plan (40%)

• Provide driving/transportation and patient escort (15%)

• Perform all other duties as assigned (5%)

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• Ability to work under close supervision with distractions/demanding patients and to follow verbal and written instructions

• Ability to communicate effectively with all departments

• Knowledge of basic first aid required

• Knowledge of program policies and procedures regarding infection control and sanitation

• Must possess good interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Effort Requirement:

• Frequent/strenuous physical effort (e.g., lifting, moving heavy objects, etc.)

Guidance Requirement:

• Direct supervision given. Specific/detailed instructions provided. Procedures well established. Few decisions made. Supervisor readily available as needed.
