Position OverviewProvide high quality aquatics-based opportunities for all Guests while fostering an environment of fun and creating memories that will last a lifetime.Key ResponsibilitiesTeach aquatics-based merit badges and lessonsPresent in front of group sizes of 2-20 youth and transfer knowledgeAssist with the set-up, maintenance and take down of program areasTurn in advancement paperwork to supervisor in a timely mannerProvide First Aid in the event of participant or staff injuriesModel the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactionsMaintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work areaPerform additional duties assigned by SBR leadershipAbide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbookQualificationsMinimum age: 18+Previous boating experience recommendedWilling to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationPhysical & Practical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, swim, and paddle up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 poundsComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelinesHousing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55Desired TraitsHigh emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focusAdaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skillsAbility to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
