Location: Livonia, MI – Field Service Territory

Territory: Southeast Michigan, approximately Jackson County through St. Clair Shores

Industry: Industrial Equipment / Compressed Air / Field Service

Job Category: Maintenance / Service Technician

Compensation Range: Approximately $30–$60/hour, depending on experience + overtime + quarterly incentive potential

Schedule: Typically 7:00 AM–4:00 PM; approximately 45–50 hours per week with significant overtime currently available

Job Type: Full-Time, Field-Based


About the Opportunity


A leading industrial equipment and service organization is seeking multiple Industrial Air Compressor Technicians to support customers throughout Southeast Michigan.


This is a hands-on field service role focused on troubleshooting, servicing, maintaining, and repairing compressed air systems and other industrial equipment at customer locations. Technicians work independently in the field, diagnose equipment issues, recommend solutions, and help customers minimize downtime and keep their operations running efficiently.


Experienced air compressor technicians are highly encouraged to apply, but the team is also open to strong technical candidates from commercial HVAC, industrial maintenance, automotive service, automation, electrical/mechanical service, rotating equipment, and other field-service environments.

The biggest priorities are strong troubleshooting ability, mechanical aptitude, customer-facing skills, and the ability to work independently in the field.


What You’ll Do


• Travel throughout an assigned Southeast Michigan territory to service customer equipment

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair industrial air compressors and compressed air systems

• Work with rotary screw, oil-flooded, oil-free, and related compressed air equipment

• Service and troubleshoot pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other rotating or industrial equipment

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and equipment performance issues

• Perform preventive maintenance and recommend repairs, upgrades, or additional service when appropriate

• Respond to customer service calls and help minimize equipment downtime

• Work independently at customer facilities while managing daily service responsibilities

• Communicate directly with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, and recommended solutions

• Complete accurate service reports and documentation

• Maintain appropriate tools, parts, and equipment in your company-provided service vehicle

• Follow established safety procedures and customer-site requirements

• Participate in ongoing technical and supplier training

• Represent the organization professionally while building strong long-term customer relationships


What You Bring


• Hands-on experience troubleshooting, maintaining, or repairing mechanical and/or electrical equipment

• Air compressor or compressed air service experience is highly preferred, including experience with rotary screw, oil-free, or oil-flooded compressors

• Candidates with backgrounds in commercial HVAC, industrial field service, industrial maintenance, automotive service, automation, rotating equipment, equipment repair, or electrical/mechanical service are also encouraged to apply

• Field service experience is very strongly preferred

• Ability to diagnose unfamiliar equipment and technical problems independently

• Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical troubleshooting ability

• Experience with motors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics, or other industrial equipment is a plus

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing responsibilities in the field

• High school diploma or GED

• Valid driver’s license

• Ability to pass required background and drug screening

• Ability to provide basic hand tools; company provides additional equipment and specialty tools required for the position

• Willingness to continue learning through technical and manufacturer training
