Come join our team as we innovate both in the clinical setting and in practice operations!As our mission is safe patient care, we require all our employees to be vaccinated as such vaccinations are available, and subject to the narrow exceptions provided by applicable law.Job ResponsibilitiesSpecimen handling, storage, preservation, and identificationFreezing tissue and cutting frozen sections with a microtomeStaining and placing tissue on slidesLabeling and storage of slidesPreparation and mixing solutions used in MOHS labUse and handling of all materials and reagentsDisposal of stains and cleaning of glass containers and Petri dishesMaintenance and review of all equipment and materials in the labMaintaining and updating OSHA and CLIA recordsRecording daily temperatures of cryostatParticipating in relative studies by maintaining proper recordsEnsuring a safe environment in the lab according to OSHA standards (i.e. changing fume hood filters, safety glasses, gloves, etc.)Maintaining quality control logs for slide reviewMaintaining log for patient identification systemPerforms related work as requiredEnsures service excellence by becoming thoroughly familiar with the Seven Principles of behavior and putting them into practice in carrying out job responsibilitiesConforms to all applicable HIPAA, billing compliance and safety guidelines.QualificationsActive and valid Histotechnician License may be required based on state guidelines.Bachelor's DegreeTravelFrom time to time, operational business needs (e.g. training sessions, emergency coverage issues, etc.) may require employee travel to alternate locations within a reasonable distance based upon GM or RM discretion.Work EnvironmentThis job description indicates in general the nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act) expected of an employee.
