Overview
Description
The AMG Technician I supports automated machine guidance and field control needs by preparing, maintaining, and validating information used by equipment and project teams. This role helps field operations use accurate data to improve production, quality, and rework prevention.
Job Responsibilities
Support setup, validation, and maintenance of machine guidance information used in field operations.
Coordinate with survey, CAD, project, and field teams to confirm project data is accurate and usable.
Troubleshoot field data issues and help crews resolve guidance, calibration, or layout concerns.
Maintain organized project files, field records, and as built information to support accurate handoffs.
Promote consistent standards for field control, data quality, and equipment support.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of heavy civil construction, field control, machine guidance, and as built data practices.
Ability to troubleshoot data, setup, and field support issues with practical judgment.
Strong attention to detail when validating elevations, surfaces, alignments, and field information.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly with operators, survey staff, and project teams.
Organized approach to documentation, handoffs, and follow through.
Education and Certificates
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Related coursework, certification, or experience in construction, surveying, drafting, or field technology preferred.
Physical Requirements
Perform work in office, project, and field environments as needed.
Work outdoors in varying weather and terrain when supporting field activity.
Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and move between work areas during the workday.
Use standard office equipment and communicate in person, by phone, and through written communication.
Visit active construction sites and follow required safety practices when applicable.
Occasionally lift or move field equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
