We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our projects. You will manage budgets, schedules, and on-site personnel while maintaining safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong engineering insight, exceptional leadership skills, and hands-on experience navigating civil/ underground construction regulations.
This position does require occasional travel to project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop detailed project schedules, critical paths, and resource allocation plans.
- Financial Management: Control project costs, approve invoices, and manage profitability against estimates.
- Site Supervision: Oversee daily site operations, Superintendents, Foremen, and subcontractors.
- Contract Administration: Negotiate supplier contracts, draft subcontracts, and manage change order processes.
- Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, municipal engineers, and public stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect worksites to verify alignment with engineering blueprints and strict constructability specifications.
- Safety Enforcement: Implement site-specific health and safety plans to maintain full compliance with relevant safety bodies.
- Permitting & Compliance: Secure necessary environmental clearances, excavation licenses, and local permits.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline is preferred but not required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of active project management experience specifically within heavy civil/ underground construction.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of earthwork, grading, concrete structural work, and wet utilities.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) designations are highly preferred.
- Mobility: Valid driver's license and willingness to visit active regional job sites occationally.
