Job Description

Maintain a safe pool environment, be prepared for emergencies and respond accordingly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Tests chlorine and PH as directed by Aquatics Director.
  • Ensures that the pool and swimmers are safe by adhering to posted pool rules. Communicates YWCA pool policies to participants.
  • Be aware of activity in the water and on deck, and if necessary respond to emergency situations appropriately.
  • Assist instructors as needed.
  • Helps maintain a tidy pool deck removing clutter.
  • Attends meetings as requested by the Aquatics Director.
  • Adheres to the YWCA York policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general equivalency diploma required.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Certifications required:

Must Have Current Lifeguard Certificate

Current CPR and First Aid Certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent sitting, standing and walking.
