ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintains confidentiality of all patient records.
- Reviews medical records for completeness.
- Maintains and utilizes a variety of health record indexes and storage and retrieval systems.
- Mails, delivers and retrieves all medical records requiring signatures to the appropriate person and in a timely manner.
- Initiate all required forms upon admission and discharge and obtain any required signatures if applicable.
- Log physician orders, plans of care, recertification, certification of terminal illness (CTI), Medicaid forms and other necessary forms as applicable upon sending and receiving into logbook.
- Works directly with Manager of Program Integrity and the agency billing officer to gather, collect and correct all records relative to billing needs.
- Reports to Manager of Program Integrity all legal inquiries and requests for any agency legal information.
- Prepares all patient rosters for IDT team meetings and attends all IDT meetings.
- Responsible for filing, opening and closing of patient medical records in a timely manner.
- Operates computer to process, store, and retrieve health information.
- Assists Manager of Program Integrity in special studies or research, as needed.
- The Associate will insure compliance with all local, state, federal and industry guidelines.
- The Associate will report to the Manager of Program Integrity/Compliance Officer any incident of perceived fraud, abuse and or waste.
Location: Bryan, Texas
Shift: Part Time- 25-29 hours per week

- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.
- Working knowledge of computer system
- Able to effectively problem solve and possess decision-making skills.

- Active communication skills and excellent organizational skills.
- Detail oriented.
