Position OverviewThe Admissions Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for prospective residents, families, and referral partners. This highly visible role is essential in creating a seamless, supportive, and professional admissions experience from initial inquiry through move-in.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, personable, and confident in navigating healthcare systems and insurance processes. This position requires collaboration with clinical and administrative teams to ensure appropriate and timely admissions.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary contact for all admission inquiries, providing clear, compassionate communication to residents, families, hospitals, and referral sources
Coordinate and manage the admissions process from referral to admission
Conduct facility tours and present services with professionalism and warmth
Verify insurance benefits, secure required authorizations, and review financial information
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and administrative teams to evaluate and process admissions
Maintain accurate and compliant admissions documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
Develop and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, case managers, discharge planners, and community partners
Track admissions activity and maintain reporting metrics
Participate in marketing initiatives and community outreach efforts as needed
High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
Previous experience in healthcare admissions, skilled nursing, social services, case management, or related healthcare role required
Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care plans, and insurance authorization processes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems
