Information Systems Security Officer (R5614)
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our Federal Systems Team and ensure the security, compliance, and integrity of our classified information systems. This is an on-site role within a high-performance classified IT environment.
The ISSO will play a critical role in safeguarding systems by implementing and maintaining cybersecurity controls, supporting system accreditation, and ensuring compliance with DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) security requirements. This role is central to enabling secure operations across multiple classification levels, including environments leveraging Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity controls in accordance with RMF and NIST 800-53
- Ensure compliance with DoD and IC requirements
- Review configurations, audit logs, and controls regularly
- Support RMF lifecycle activities
- Maintain SSPs, POA&Ms, and related artifacts
- Coordinate with ISSM, AO, and stakeholders
- Perform vulnerability management and patch tracking
- Analyze scan results (ACAS/Nessus)
- Report system risk posture
- Support incident response activities
- Assist with audits and inspections
- Maintain audit-ready documentation
- Support CDS accreditation and compliance
- Validate configurations and data flows
- Coordinate with CDS administrators
- Ensure STIG compliance
- Maintain secure baselines
- Review configuration changes
- Work with engineers and admins on secure design
- Provide guidance on MLS environments
- 3–6 years in cybersecurity or ISSO roles in classified environments
- Experience with RMF and NIST 800-53
- Familiarity with STIGs and vulnerability tools
- IC or SAP environment experience
- eMASS familiarity
- Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
