Job Description
Kids Come First Early Learning Centers is seeking a dependable, energetic, and caring Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preschool Cook & Classroom Floater to join our team.
This is a full-time, dual-role position that combines preparing nutritious meals and snacks for our children while providing classroom and center support as needed. The ideal candidate enjoys working around young children and takes pride in supporting meal preparation, menu planning, maintaining sanitation standards, and is comfortable assisting teachers and staff throughout the center.
Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children according to established menus and schedules
- Follow proper food preparation, portioning, sanitation, and food-safety procedures
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, food-preparation surfaces, and kitchen equipment
- Manage inventory and ensure proper food storage
- Serve meals safely while complying with safety regulations
- Follow center procedures regarding food allergies, special dietary needs, and meal substitutions
- Maintain required meal-production and food-service records
- Provide additional support throughout the center as assigned by the Director
- Assist with meals, snacks, transitions, nap/rest time, and other daily classroom routines
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, parents, teachers, and management
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience preparing meals in a childcare center, preschool, school, cafeteria, or similar setting is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must understand or be willing to learn proper food-safety/sanitation procedures and hygiene practices
- Understanding of nutritional guidelines for children
- Strong multitasking abilities
- English/Spanish bilingual required
