Materials and Planning Manager
Job Description
DMV USA is seeking a Materials & Planning Manager to lead and coordinate material planning, inventory management, and production scheduling activities for our manufacturing operation. This position will play a key role in ensuring materials are available when needed, production plans are achievable, and inventory and WIP levels are effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead material planning and production scheduling activities to support customer demand and production requirements.
- Develop and maintain production and material plans in coordination with Operations, Sales, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams.
- Monitor inventory levels, material availability, shortages, and purchasing requirements.
- Identify potential material constraints and develop solutions to prevent production disruptions.
- Coordinate purchasing requirements and supplier priorities based on production needs.
- Maintain accurate planning data, forecasts, inventory information, and production schedules within ERP/SAP systems
- Analyze inventory, production, and material requirements to improve efficiency and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
- Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Quality, Shipping, and Sales to resolve scheduling and material issues.
- Prepare and maintain reports, lists, forecasts, and performance metrics related to materials and planning.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives involving inventory control, planning processes, and production flow.
- Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to materials/planning activities.
- Managerial Responsibility of 2 Exempt / 4 Non Exempt employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in materials planning, production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of MRP, inventory management, production scheduling, and material requirements.
- Experience working with SAP or a comparable ERP system.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively across multiple departments.
- Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- On-Site Work Expected 90% of the time
