Electrical Safety Technician – Data Center Construction

Location: Sullivan, IN
Pay: $42.00–$50.00/hour (DOE)
Per Diem: $800/week for employees who live more than 60 miles from the project site
Duration: Approximately 6 months
Schedule: 50–60+ hours per week, Monday–Saturday
Shift: Day shift; night shift availability required as needed

Position Overview

Our client, a leading electrical contractor specializing in mission-critical construction, is seeking an experienced Electrical Safety Technician to support a large-scale data center project in Sullivan, IN.

This position is ideal for a safety professional with strong electrical construction safety experience who understands the demands of mission-critical environments and can work effectively with project leadership, superintendents, electricians, and field personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
  • Monitor electrical construction activities to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and work practices and assist with implementing corrective actions.
  • Conduct and assist with employee safety orientations, toolbox talks, and safety training.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, inspection reports, incident records, and other required documentation.
  • Participate in incident and near-miss investigations and assist with corrective action plans.
  • Verify proper PPE use, electrical safety practices, and compliance with site procedures.
  • Support project management and field leadership with safety initiatives and compliance efforts.
  • Assist with client audits, safety meetings, inspections, and other project safety requirements.
  • Serve as a safety resource and point of contact for field employees and project teams.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the jobsite.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
  • Electrical safety experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or large-scale commercial electrical construction projects is required.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • NFPA 70E Certification required.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and electrical safety practices.
  • Experience conducting jobsite inspections, audits, safety meetings, and incident investigations.
  • Strong safety documentation and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively supporting project leadership.
  • Reliable, organized, and committed to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Must be willing to work night shift when required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $42.00–$50.00/hour, depending on experience.
  • $800/week per diem for employees who live more than 60 miles from the project site.
  • Approximately 6-month project assignment with immediate start.
  • 50–60+ hours per week with potential for overtime.
