Production Technician
Job Description
Are you mechanically inclined? Do you enjoy working with hand and power tools? Do you have strong soldering skills? This position requires previous mechanical and electrical experience, dedication to detail, and the ability to work with tight mechanical and optical tolerances. The individual will ensure timely completions of production orders to schedule. The product delivered should be free of workmanship defects and fully tested. In addition, the individual should consistently look for opportunities to improve production processes through providing feedback to engineering. An ideal candidate will have a proven track record of good attendance with past experience in mechanical and electrical technical production.
We are seeking candidates for an opening with a leading forensic equipment company located in Plymouth, MN. This is a 1st shift position, hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Job Requirements:
- Use of common hand tools (wire stripper, screwdriver, drill etc.) including power tools.
- Electrical assembly and soldering.
- Adjust, repair, or replace electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Building Assemblies and Sub-Assemblies and bagging products.
- Position requires strong attention to detail, standing/sitting at work bench for several hours each day.
- Ability to follow specific oral and written instructions.
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Delivery of product on time to production schedule.
- Consistently look for opportunities to improve processes.
- Effectively communicate any supply issues that are affecting production.
Experience:
- Mechanical Knowledge: 1 year (preferred)
- Electrical assembly and soldering skills: 1 year (preferred)
- Computer skills including Outlook, SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel.
- Ability to work constructively within a team.
- Microscope knowledge or experience a plus!
Education:
- High School diploma is required
- 2 Year technical/electrical 2-year degree is preferred
Physical Demands
Job duties require sitting at a workbench, standing at a workbench, lifting to 50 lbs, bending, and other physical demands customary to a typical assembly environment.
