Plumber/HVAC Technician

Job Summary

  • Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems.
  • Radiant boiler repairs, maintenance, installation.
  • Water treatment repair, maintenance and installation.
  • tankless, tank electric or gas water heater repair, maintenance and installation.
  • Gas, sewer and water repiping
  • General Accountabilities
  • Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of -structure resulting from pipe installation.
  • Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes.
  • Cuts openings in walls and floors, as needed, to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
  • Cuts and threads pipe.
  • Bends pipe to required angle.
  • Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
  • Joins pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints.
  • Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.
  • Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures.
  • Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending pipes, and opening clogged drains.
  • Inspects HVAC-R systems.
  • Performs regularly scheduled maintenance on HVAC-R systems.
  • Installs HVAC-R systems.
  • Diagnoses and correct problems in HVAC-R systems.
  • Tests electrical circuits and components for continuity.
  • Tests pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks.
  • Joins pipes or tubing to equipment and to fuel, water, or refrigerant source.
  • Reassembles and tests equipment following repairs.
  • Repairs or replaces defective equipment, components, or wiring.
  • Obtains and maintains required certifications.
  • Installs, connects, and adjust thermostats, humidistats and timers.
  • Complies with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
  • Mini-split repair, maintenance and installation.
  • Furnace repair, maintenance and installation.
  • refrigerated air repair, maintenance and installation.
  • Swamp cooler repair, maintenance and installation.
  • Inspects and tests HVAC-R systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions.

Job Qualifications

Education: Associate's degree or trade school or High school diploma

Experience: Appropriate certifications and/or licensures with 3-5 years of related experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication , Critical thinking Judgment and decision making, Active listening, Operation monitoring, Complex problem solving
  • Repairs or replaces defective equipment, components, or wiring.
  • Obtains and maintains required certifications.

  • Valid Nm driver license
  • Pass and maintain and clear background check
