Senior Health & Safety Manager
Job Description
National Ready Mixed Concrete Company (NRMCC) is seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Manager to lead the health and safety performance of approximately 10 Ready Mix operations throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.
This position is responsible for driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing risk, and partnering with operations to achieve world-class safety performance. The successful candidate is a visible leader who builds relationships, influences change and holds all levels of the organization accountable for safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Lead health and safety programs across multiple Ready-Mix operations.
- Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA, OSHA, California DOT, FMCSA, and other applicable safety regulations.
- Conduct and oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
- Partner with operations leadership to identify risks and develop practical solutions that improve safety performance.
- Conduct facility audits, field observations, and compliance inspections.
- Develop and deliver safety training and leadership coaching.
- Monitor safety performance metrics and communicate trends and recommendations to leadership.
- Support workers' compensation, return-to-work, and injury prevention initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive health and safety experience, including multi-site operations.
- Strong knowledge of Cal/OSHA, California DOT/FMCSA, incident investigation, risk management, and safety management systems.
- Experience in Ready Mix, construction materials, manufacturing, transportation, or another heavy industrial environment preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, or CHST are a plus.
