Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues effectively.
  • Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify system faults and implement repairs promptly.
  • Diagnose and resolve HVAC system malfunctions through equipment troubleshooting and mechanical systems repair techniques.
  • Maintain building automation systems (BAS) to optimize HVAC performance and energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with clients to assess their needs, provide expert recommendations on HVAC design improvements, and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Use hand tools and specialized equipment to perform system installation, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance in accordance with safety standards including EPA regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a service technician in commercial HVAC or related construction fields with a strong understanding of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) systems.
  • Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, mechanical systems repair, electrical diagnostics, plumbing fundamentals, and building automation systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC system installation, maintenance procedures, and equipment troubleshooting techniques.
  • Mechanical knowledge of boilers, air conditioning units, ventilation fans, refrigeration systems, and related mechanical components.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL or driver certification is preferred.
  • EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required; additional certifications in electrical or mechanical systems are advantageous.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems within building automation or control panels is a plus.

Compensation:

$28/hr to $43/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
