Tow Truck Operator

The Tow Truck Operator is responsible for safely towing and recovering vehicles across a variety of environments including urban areas, highways, and rural regions. Operating primarily as a solo operator, this role involves managing light-duty and heavy-duty towing assignments, accident recovery, and illegal parking enforcement. The operator must navigate routes efficiently, secure loads properly, assist customers professionally, and handle equipment maintenance while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Flexibility for scheduled shifts and on-call availability, including nights and weekends, is essential. **Must be able to work NIGHTS & WEEKENDS**

Responsibilities

• Tow light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles in urban, highway, and rural locations
• Secure loads to ensure safe transport and recovery
• Navigate routes efficiently to meet customer and service demands
• Assist customers with towing and recovery inquiries and processes
• Perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure operational readiness
• Manage accident scenes adhering to safety and legal requirements
• Recover vehicles involved in accidents or illegally parked
• Comply with all safety regulations and traffic control procedures
• Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch and customers

Required Qualifications

• Valid DOT Medical Card
• Towing endorsement for operating tow trucks
• Experience operating tow trucks for vehicle towing and recovery
• Basic vehicle repair skills
• Proficiency in route planning and navigation
• Strong customer service abilities
• Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance standards
• Effective communication skills
• Problem solving and complex thinking capabilities
• Time management skills to handle on-call and scheduled shifts
