Working within a small team and reporting to the Office Manager, this role involves managing patient appointments, maintaining accurate electronic health records, and facilitating effective communication with patients. Experience with prior authorizations and strict adherence to HIPAA compliance are essential to ensure smooth office workflow and patient confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate calendars efficiently
- Manage and update electronic medical records accurately
- Communicate with patients regarding appointments and medical inquiries
- Maintain thorough and organized record-keeping
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors
- Enter data promptly and with attention to detail
- Coordinate prior authorizations and assist with related office processes
- Patient check-in and vital signs
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical office assistance
- Proficient in medical terminology and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Strong knowledge of patient scheduling and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in Medical Office Administration
- Certified Medical Office Assistant (CMOA) certification
