Job Description
POSITION: Office Supervisor & Surgery Counselor
DEPARTMENT: Office Managers
REPORTS TO: Administrator
Job Summary: This individual is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions for the medical practice, ensuring that office policies, procedures, and plans are executed in a smooth and expeditious manner; performing financial oversight, office and, insurance administration, and personnel management duties. This individual is responsible for assisting the patient with all aspects of pre-operative preparations in order to promote patient confidence in their medical care and to make the surgical experience as smooth as possible; acts as a liaison between the office, surgical facility, patient and primary care physician.
1. Practice Management
a. Manages human resource development.
· Maintains an effective system for employee personnel files and records ensuring legal documentation.
· Creates and/or maintains employee orientation and termination protocols.
· Performs all prospective employee reference checks; ensures compliance with all government agencies with regard to human resource
· Provides leadership, guidance, and expertise to all staff members is a must.
· Effectively communicates departmental activities to the entire staff.
· Establishes a high performance team that is efficient, knowledgeable, service-oriented, sharing responsibility for attaining the goals of the practice.

Education and Experience:
1. Two to Five years medical practice experience.
2. Financial background with previous bookkeeping experience is a plus.
3. Computer literacy.
4. Bilingual a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Acts as an effective liaison between the patient and the surgical facility .
2. Schedules patient surgeries and pre-operative appointments.
3. Notifies patient of all scheduled appointments.
4. Collects all pertinent information for upcoming surgery, such as bookings, lens orders, insurance, H&Ps, and signed consent forms, and transfers to surgical facility.
5. Answers telephone inquiries from patients, their families.
6. Performs other tasks as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Financial Responsibility
a. Reviews staff on Posts charges, payments, and adjustments.
b. Oversee Processes patient/insurance collections.
c. End of day review of daily deposits..
d. Reconciles day sheet with staff
2. Insurance Administration
a. Works with billing on accounts receivables for both insurance and patients.
b. Works with billing on Resubmits unpaid claims.
c. Helps Prepare applications for insurance company participation
