Mechanic Helper

Overview

Not so stock is a performance oriented air conditioned garage. We build, repair and service cars, race cars, track cars, and other vehicles.

We ensure vehicles are mechanically sound prior to delivery to the customer. Cleans, organizes and maintains shop. This position has potential to grow significantly in responsibility.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleans and ensures vehicles meet quality appearance standards

Cleans, organizes and maintains assembly shop area and tools, inside and outside

Runs errands

Performs facilities maintenance of all kinds as needed

Performs installation, service, and repair of various systems on all cars –wheels, exhaust systems, suspension, brake systems, transmissions, cooling systems, steering systems, interior components, motors, roll cages, etc

Assumes any responsibilities delegated to him by management

Performs wheel alignments, tire changes and other services

Performs various mechanical and assembly tasks

Can also run a lathe or a mill. (nice to have)

Social media experience, taking and editing pictures and videos. (nice to have)

Education and Work Experience

High school education or equivalent required. Requires some automotive repair and assembly experience, preferably in a racing or track environment. Certificate/Diploma from an Automotive Trade School or equivalent work experience is preferred, but not necessary.

Knowledge & Skills

Strong mechanical aptitude. Able to plan and follow through on the assembly and maintenance of cars. Able to troubleshoot and resolve automotive related issues. Strong oral communication, teamwork, people skills and pays attention to small details.

Equipment and Applications

Hand tools, shop equipment, air tools, and measuring devices.

Work Environment Physical Demands

Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and squat repeatedly or for long periods of time. Ability to lift more than 35 pounds. Ability to work in a loud and hot environment with fumes and chemicals.
