Job Title: Part-Time After Care Teacher

Position Summary:

We are seeking a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic After Care Teacher to join our team. The After Care Teacher will provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children after school hours. This role is part-time, typically in the afternoons, and focuses on supervising students, supporting homework time, and planning fun, age-appropriate activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times during after care hours.

Create and maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment.

Plan and lead age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, games, and group play.

Assist children with homework or quiet reading time as needed.

Model positive behavior and encourage cooperation, kindness, and respect among children.

Communicate effectively with parents/guardians during pick-up and provide updates as needed.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and play areas.

Follow all school, state, and licensing regulations and policies.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (required); coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.

Previous experience working with children (in a childcare, after school, or educational setting).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage groups of children with patience, positivity, and consistency.

CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Schedule & Compensation:

Part-time; typically Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (hours may vary based on school needs).

Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications.

Work Environment:

This role involves working with children in both indoor and outdoor settings, engaging in active play, and maintaining a safe and fun environment.
