Bridge Creek Family is seeking a bilingual (Spanish) compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our clinical team and provide an excellent patient experience. The Medical Assistant will assist providers with patient care, clinical procedures, documentation, care coordination, and day-to-day clinic operations in a fast-paced family medicine setting.
Position Summary
The Medical Assistant works under the supervision of the provider and/or clinical leadership to prepare patients for visits, obtain and document clinical information, assist with in-office procedures, manage clinical communications, and help maintain an efficient, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.
Essential Duties
- Welcome patients, verify identity, and escort them to exam rooms.
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medications, chief complaint, and relevant medical history.
- Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, procedures, and preventive-care services.
- Perform clinical tasks within scope of practice, including point-of-care testing, specimen collection and processing, injections, immunizations, EKGs, and other approved procedures.
- Assist providers during examinations and minor in-office procedures.
- Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and clinical supplies.
- Enter information accurately into the electronic health record (EHR), including histories, test results, referrals, patient communications, and provider instructions.
- Manage incoming patient calls, portal messages, refill requests, laboratory results, referral coordination, and follow-up tasks as assigned.
- Communicate patient education and provider instructions clearly, professionally, and compassionately.
- Follow infection-control practices, OSHA standards, HIPAA requirements, and clinic policies at all times.
- Coordinate with providers, front-office staff, laboratories, pharmacies, specialists, and other members of the care team.
- Monitor supply inventory and notify leadership when clinical supplies or medications need to be replenished.
- Support quality-improvement initiatives, preventive-care outreach, and other clinic operational needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support patient care and clinic workflow.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Current Medical Assistant certification preferred, such as CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA.
- Current CPR/BLS certification required or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe.
- Prior experience in family medicine, primary care, internal medicine, pediatrics, or a similar outpatient setting preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical workflows, medication documentation, and basic laboratory procedures.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Experience using an EHR system preferred.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy, administer injections, obtain EKGs, and conduct point-of-care testing, as permitted by training and clinic policy.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred, if applicable.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the clinic during the workday.
- Ability to assist patients as needed and lift or move supplies and equipment consistent with clinic safety policies.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing, entering data, and preparing clinical supplies.
Work Environment
This position is based in an outpatient family medicine clinic. The Medical Assistant may be exposed to patients with communicable illnesses, bloodborne pathogens, and other clinical hazards. Appropriate personal protective equipment and infection-control procedures will be provided and required.
