Our client is seeking a National Kitchen Accounting Manager with Food Distribution experience to join their team, in Fontana, CA. (Travel & Remote Required)

Job Purpose:
The National Kitchen Accounting Manager is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and
oversight of Kitchen Accounting operations across all locations. This role leads a team of supervisors
and analysts while driving operational excellence through performance management, KPI development,
process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration. The Manager ensures accounting
processes are accurate, efficient, scalable, and aligned with company objectives while fostering a culture
of accountability, continuous improvement, employee development, and customer service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership, Mentoring & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and analysts; establish performance expectations; conduct coaching and performance reviews; build succession plans; and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Performance Management, KPIs & Team Improvement: Establish, monitor, and report on KPIs measuring productivity, accuracy, service levels, operational effectiveness, and internal customer satisfaction. Analyze trends, drive improvement plans, develop scorecards, and present results to leadership.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as a strategic business partner to Kitchen, Accounting, and leadership teams; provide insights, recommendations, and support for organizational growth.
- Accounting Operations Leadership: Oversee Kitchen Accounting activities across all locations ensuring consistency, accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
- Accounts Payable Oversight: Provide leadership of AP operations, monitor AP aging, ensure timely invoice processing and payment execution, and strengthen vendor relationships.
- Project Management & Process Improvement: Lead cross-functional projects focused on automation, reporting enhancements, system improvements, workflow optimization, and standardization initiatives.
- Financial Reporting & Close Management: Ensure accurate and timely monthly end reporting while supporting audits, reconciliations, and compliance requirements.
- Year-End Close & Reporting: Lead year-end close and reporting activities, ensuring deadlines are met and results are accurate. Maintain discipline across reporting cycles and contribute to ongoing process and system improvements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Minimum 2 years of management experience leading accounting or finance teams.
- Proven success leading projects, process improvement initiatives, and organizational change.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, mentor, and retain high-performing teams.
- Strong experience utilizing KPIs, reporting, and performance metrics to drive results.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant work experience will also be considered.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SAP.
- Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, communication, and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.
