SUMMARY:


Responsible for the fulfillment of applications training duties of the Shimadzu Interventional X-Ray product line (Trinias). These responsibilities include a role during the sales process, initial system turnover and on-site follow-up, to ensure customer satisfaction. Additional roles include the development of the SMS Sales Channel and processes, as well development of “some” familiarity of the Shimadzu RF products.

The Applications Specialist represents Shimadzu with professionalism and a focus on delivering a positive customer experience.

This person will maintain a balance of 80% applications duties and 20% office duties. Detailed duties are listed below.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the department manager.


  1. Conduct customer (end user) interventional x-ray (IXR) applications training following initial system turnover, in compliance with the hospital (facility) credentialling processes.
  2. Responsible for the applications training schedule for the SMS IXR backlog.
  3. Conduct IXR follow-up applications coordination and scheduling.
  4. Develop and keep current clinical application tech tips and learning collateral.
  5. Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of SMS reference / show sites. Travel to reference sites to provide training and support entitlements.
  6. Support of installed base customers - e-mail, phone, and remote on-line connection.
  7. Assist sales specialists with training and development of the SMS Sales Channel.
  8. Assist sales and marketing in the development and maintenance of the SMS IXR Sales Tools.
  9. Assist in the IXR Sales Process, as required (presentations, customer meetings, etc.), to develop sales skills.
  10. Remain versed on competitive products and market positions (product features, configurations, etc.).
  11. Assist the IXR Sales Specialist in strategic product planning.
  12. Participate in trade shows as assigned.
  13. Participate in periodic Shimadzu product training sessions.
  14. Learn and understand the Shimadzu RF and Multi-Purpose product offerings (secondary to Cardiovascular).

QUALIFICATIONS:

This person must fulfill the obligations listed above while continuing to enhance their clinical knowledge to remain current or preferably ahead of clinical trends. This person must maintain the capability to transfer this knowledge to the SMS customers and sales channel and communicate closely with those entities.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

This person must possess an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology with 5-10 years experience in the Radiology, Radiography and Fluoroscopy clinical environment. This person must also maintain excellent inter-personal skills as well as current valid R.T. License. Excellent written and oral skills required. PC / laptop skills are essential.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

English required.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Mathematical skills commensurate with a valid R.T. License


REASONING ABILITY:

Reasoning ability commensurate with a valid R.T. License.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must maintain valid R.T. License and a valid U.S. Passport


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

80-90% travel required. Travel primarily throughout the United States. Travel to Canada, the Caribbean, and abroad are also possible. Must have the physical capability to meet the demands of the schedule (negotiate airports, hospitals, etc.).


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

80% on-site in hospitals and clinics. 20% office based.
