Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager will support the daily operations of a busy cardiology practice, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient administrative processes. This individual will assist in supervising front and back-office staff, coordinating scheduling, supporting compliance efforts, and helping manage financial and operational functions. The ideal candidate has healthcare management experience, strong leadership skills, and a solid understanding of cardiovascular healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the day-to-day operations of the cardiology practice, including clinical and administrative workflows.
Supervise and support staff including medical assistants, receptionists, billing personnel, and other office staff.
Coordinate patient scheduling, physician calendars, and ensure efficient patient flow.
Monitor patient satisfaction and resolve patient concerns professionally and promptly.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of staff.
Help manage supply inventory, vendor relationships, and equipment maintenance.
Assist in billing, coding oversight, and claims management processes.
Generate reports on productivity, revenue, and key performance indicators.
Serve as liaison between physicians, staff, and upper management.
Support quality improvement initiatives and EMR optimization.
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Business, or related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in cardiology or a related specialty.
1+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (e.g., EPIC, eClinicalWorks, etc.).
Strong understanding of medical terminology, scheduling, billing, and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
CPR certification and medical office certifications (e.g., CMOM, CPC) are a plus.
Work with a distinguished group of Cardiologists.
