Location: Portsmouth, NH 03801

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $50,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on experience and skills

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shift

Work Setting: In-person; in-office

About the role

GL Rogers and Company, Inc. is a Portsmouth-based commercial real estate developer, asset manager, and property manager. Our portfolio includes commercial properties and franchised hotels held across multiple LLCs, limited partnerships, and corporations, with development and construction, leasing and asset management, and hotel ownership and operations all under one roof.

We're looking for an experienced Accountant to own the full bookkeeping cycle for these entities in an accrual-based system — general ledger through trial balance, with monthly reconciliations, quarterly adjusting entries, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

General ledger: chart of accounts, journal entries, accruals, monthly account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions

Close & reporting: quarterly adjusting entries, month-end and quarter-end close, and trial balances/internal financial statements by entity and on a consolidated basis

Accounts receivable: tenant rent and CAM billing, annual reconciliations, cash application, collections support, and coordinating deposits, payments, and wires

Accounts payable: vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, construction draw requisitions, vendor statement reconciliation, and W-9/1099 compliance

Fixed assets: depreciation and amortization schedules for real estate and hospitality assets, including tenant improvements, FF&E, leasing commissions, loan costs, franchise fees, and tracking construction in progress

Debt & investor reporting: debt service tracking, loan covenant reporting, lender requests, and investor/partner reporting, including distributions and capital account activity

Year-end: schedules and workpapers for outside CPAs, plus support for K-1 preparation and tax strategy

• Assist with budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis

• Assist with payroll, corporate benefits management, and record keeping

Qualifications

Required:

• 3 to 5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping or full-cycle accounting experience

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience

• General ledger experience in an accrual-based accounting environment

• Familiarity with industry depreciation and amortization schedules and useful lives

• AR and AP management experience through month-end close

• Proficiency in Excel

Preferred:

• Yardi Breeze experience

• Commercial real estate, property management, construction, or hotel accounting background

• Experience with CAM reconciliations, percentage rent, and lease abstract interpretation

• Exposure to multi-entity structures involving LLCs, limited partnerships, and corporations
