Gardening Team Leader
Job Description
We are a busy, well-established landscaping and garden-services business serving residential clients in the Washington, D.C. area. We are searching for a hardworking and responsible team leader. You will supervise, mentor, and work alongside a small team of landscapers to complete one or more client projects each day. Landscapers perform a variety of tasks including planting, mulching, raking, mowing, pruning, installing irrigation systems, and installing hardscape features. As the team leader, you may communicate directly with clients while on-site at their properties. We are looking for a team player who has an attention to detail and ability to organize multiple tasks on the fly. Key responsibilities: %CF; Supervise, direct, and monitor a landscaping team of 2 - 3 crew members. %CF; Ensure deadlines are met and project specifications are followed by organizing and assigning tasks to maximize efficiency and promote quality results. %CF; Establish and maintain client gardens to include planting, mulching, raking, mowing, pruning, installing irrigation systems, and installing hardscape features. %CF; Collect and dispose of garden debris and litter. %CF; Follow landscape designs when implementing new projects and updating established gardens. %CF; Communicate project status in real-time to ensure accurate recording of team man-hours and materials used. %CF; Communicate with supervisors and other leads to ensure scheduled projects are completed each day. %CF; Drive the team to job sites within the Washington, D.C. area in a company truck. %CF; Work outdoors in all seasonal weather conditions. Required: %CF; Previous landscaping experience. %CF; Proven ability to direct and organize a team. %CF; Strong communication skills including the ability to interact successfully with team members, supervisors, and clients. %CF; Fluent English and decent Spanish. Some crew members and clients are Spanish-speaking. %CF; Plant identification skills and knowledge of horticultural best practices. %CF; Ability to work with hand tools such as pruners, shovels, and rakes. %CF; Ability to operate power equipment such as leaf blowers, mowers, and trimmers. %CF; Current driver’s license.
