Job Overview
The Manufacturing Process Engineer works to develop, optimize, standardize, and troubleshoot manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety. They collaborate with the production and engineering teams to perform root cause analysis of issues and to develop and implement solutions that are practical and effective. Utilizing Lean methodologies, they seek out opportunities to eliminate waste, reduce costs, and improve processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new products or product improvements.
- Conduct analysis and optimization of existing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address manufacturing deviations or non-conformances.
- Create or validate assembly drawings, instructions, CAD packages, and BOMs for new product releases to vendors.
- Maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, including SOPs, work instructions, and process specifications.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial preferred; or equivalent work experience
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
- Exposure to sheet metal, CNC processes, and assembly processes is preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
