About the Practice
New Brighton Dental is a growing startup dental practice in Santa Cruz County led by Dr. Jonathan Vincent. We are a quality- and patient-focused practice with a close-knit team that values teamwork, positivity, and excellent patient care.
Position Summary
We are seeking an entry-level Dental Assistant to join our team. Recent dental assisting graduates are encouraged to apply. We are happy to train the right candidate who has a great attitude, strong work ethic, and is eager to learn and grow with our practice.
Qualifications
- Meets California requirements to work as a Dental Assistant
- Current dental X-ray certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Infection Control and California Dental Practice Act certifications, as required
- Basic knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures
- Dependable, punctual, and organized
- Professional and friendly with patients
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and receive hands-on training
Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist
- Take quality dental X-rays
- Set up and break down treatment rooms
- Sterilize and organize instruments
- Follow proper infection-control protocols
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked operatories
- Assist with digital scanning and other clinical procedures as trained
- Help support an efficient, positive clinical environment
Experience
Previous dental assisting experience is not required. We are happy to train a newer assistant who has completed the necessary education/certifications and is motivated to develop their clinical skills.
