Key Responsibilities

• 1-on-1 Patient Care: Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions established by the supervising Physical Therapist, focusing on orthopedics and geriatrics.
• Patient & Caregiver Education: Empower patients and their families by guiding them through home exercises, movement strategies, and functional recovery goals.
• Timely Documentation: Maintain clear, accurate clinical records using WebPT to track patient progress seamlessly.
• Team Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with our PTs, front desk staff, and leadership to keep patient care organized and efficient.
• Safety First: Ensure clinical equipment is properly maintained and operated to guarantee a safe healing environment.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education & Licensure: Active New York State Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license or valid NYS temporary permit.
• Certifications: Current CPR / BLS Certification required.
• Clinical Expertise: Strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, therapeutic exercise, and orthopedic/geriatric rehabilitation.
• Tech Savvy: Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems (WebPT experience is a plus!).
• Language Skills: Bilingual in Asian languages/dialects (e.g., Cantonese, Mandarin) is strongly preferred but not required to serve our diverse Dyker Heights community.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication, and a passion for ethical patient care.
