Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and process monthly legal billing for multiple attorneys and practice groups
- Generate prebills and finalize invoices in accordance with client billing guidelines
- Review billing entries for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engagement terms
- Edit and revise billing narratives as directed by attorneys
- Submit electronic invoices through various e-billing platforms
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, rejected invoices, and client inquiries
- Maintain billing rates, client matter information, and billing records within the firm's accounting system
- Monitor aged accounts receivable and assist with collections efforts as needed
- Generate billing and financial reports for attorneys and management
- Ensure adherence to client-specific billing requirements and outside counsel guidelines
- Partner with attorneys, legal staff, and accounting team members to support billing operations
- 3+ years of legal billing experience within a law firm environment
- Prior experience processing attorney prebills and client invoices
- Strong understanding of legal billing practices and e-billing platforms
- Experience working with billing and accounting software commonly used in law firms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring billing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor with a client-service mindset
- Experience with Elite, Aderant, or similar legal billing software
- Exposure to collections and accounts receivable processes
- Knowledge of client billing guidelines and electronic invoice submission systems
- Compensation Range is $80,000.00-$95,000.00 annually
