Emergency Room RN - Days/Nights

Summary

We are hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a permanent full-time opportunity in the Emergency Department at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, NH. This role is ideal for experienced Emergency Room nurses who are confident providing care in a Critical Access Hospital environment. At least 2 years of ER experience is required, and new graduates are not being accepted at this time. Candidates should be actively planning to relocate to New Hampshire.

Schedule

Full-Time
Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend requirements: TBD

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct emergency nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient interventions.
• Perform rapid and comprehensive patient assessments in the Emergency Department.
• Prioritize care based on patient acuity and changing clinical conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital policies.
• Monitor patients and promptly identify and respond to changes in condition.
• Recognize cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to arrhythmias.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and clinical documentation.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, follow-up care, and preventive measures.
• Provide emotional support and advocate for patients' rights and needs.
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of emergency nursing practices and medical advancements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate's Degree or higher required; Bachelor's preferred.
• At least 2 years of Emergency Room experience required.
• Valid RN license issued by the New Hampshire Board of Nursing required.
• NH or Compact RN license must be active at time of submission.
• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification – AHA required.
• PALS certification highly preferred.
• CEN certification highly preferred.
• TNCC certification highly preferred.
• Rhythm Recognition or Basic Arrhythmia experience required.
• Strong emergency nursing, assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Must be comfortable working independently in a small Critical Access Hospital environment.
• New graduates are not being accepted at this time.
• Must be actively planning to relocate to New Hampshire if not currently located in the area.
