Job Title: Security Officer - 3rd shift (Night Shift 9pm-7am)

This Position will be 40 Hours a week, with four (4) 10HR Shifts in a week.

Location: 501 N. 24th St. Phoenix AZ 85008

Duration: Temp - 4 months but available to be extended/converted to FTE

Pay Range: $19.08/hr W2

Job Description

We are seeking a Contract Security Officer I to join our team on third shift. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospital and campus security operations, access control, emergency response, and de-escalation and a proven ability to maintain a safe and secure environment across multiple facilities.

Responsibilities:

Conduct daily rounds and manage egress/ingress control for Civil Hospital, Forensic Hospital, the Arizona Community Protection & Treatment Center, and the broader campus.

Respond to and participate in codes, drills, emergencies, and building or mall safety inspections while delivering customer service.

Rotate through assigned posts or serve as an interior campus rover as scheduled.

Assist in patient interventions to support staff and apply proper Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) methods.

Problem-solve and help resolve patient conflicts as appropriate while providing timely information to the on-duty Hospital Security Supervisor and others as needed.

Support vehicle and radio maintenance, safety inspections, and complete related documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Ability to receive, transmit, and carry out written and verbal directives.

Proficiency in verbal de-escalation techniques and professional language use.

Knowledge of evacuation procedures and operation of fire extinguishers.

Skill in investigation and report writing with attention to detail.

Experience monitoring and operating electronic cameras and safety equipment, including radios, telephones, and emergency numbers.

Ability to respond to hospital codes and provide verbal and/or physical intervention during critical patient interactions.

Ability to maintain professional interpersonal relationships with patients/residents, staff, law enforcement, and visitors.

Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Capability to perform physical duties, including lifting and carrying.

Commitment to supporting a diverse, multicultural workforce and an inclusive work environment.

Preferred Skills:

Hospital or behavioral health security experience.

NVCI or comparable crisis intervention training.
