Sunbelt Staffing is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered Special Education Teacher to join a welcoming school district in the Columbia, South Carolina area. Position Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver individualized instruction that aligns with each student's educational goals
  • Develop, review, and maintain compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Implement accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based instructional strategies
  • Evaluate student progress through assessments, observations, and ongoing data collection
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to promote student achievement
  • Maintain detailed documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements
  • Build positive partnerships with families through regular communication and progress updates

Required Qualifications

  • Active South Carolina Special Education Teaching Certificate or eligibility for licensure
  • Knowledge of IDEA regulations and the IEP process
  • Ability to implement accommodations and behavior support strategies
  • Meets all state and district employment requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field required
  • Master's degree preferred but not required

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with students with mild, moderate, or severe disabilities in a school setting
  • Familiarity with behavior intervention plans, progress monitoring, and educational technology is beneficial
  • Newly licensed educators are encouraged to apply
