Urgent Hiring: Med Surg Registered Nurse - Excellent Pay + $15K SOB

We are seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) in Ottumwa, IA, to deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in a collaborative healthcare environment. This full-time, permanent opportunity offers a competitive salary and a $15,000 sign-on bonus. The RN will be responsible for assessing patients, creating individualized care plans, administering medications, and supporting overall patient outcomes while working closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical and psychosocial assessments
• Develop and individualize nursing care plans
• Implement and contribute to medical plans of care
• Accurately transcribe and implement physician orders
• Administer medications following established safety standards
• Monitor and document patient responses to treatment
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Participate in mandatory training, education, and competency programs
• Assist with team development and unit goals
• Maintain flexibility with scheduling to support department coverage
• Identify and report safety and quality concerns

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program
• Current Iowa RN license or compact RN license allowing practice in Iowa
• Current BCLS/BLS certification
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter – Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Certificates
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills

Salary: $70,803–$95,596/year
Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
