We are looking for a Litigation Paralegal to support a small, fast-paced law firm in San Diego, California that handles employment, personal injury, and criminal defense matters in both state and federal court. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a highly organized legal specialist who takes pride in precise calendaring, dependable case support, and strong follow-through. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with a lean legal team and play a key part in keeping matters on track from filing through preparation.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate litigation calendars by tracking court deadlines, hearings, and case-related milestones across multiple matters.
• Prepare and submit legal filings electronically in California state and federal courts, ensuring all documents meet procedural requirements.
• Coordinate depositions, attorney meetings, court appearances, and other case events with internal and external participants.
• Assist with discovery by organizing materials, monitoring deadlines, and supporting the preparation of responses and document productions.
• Draft clear correspondence for clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in active matters.
• Provide billing and matter support by entering and updating information in Rocket Matter as needed.
• Organize and manage case documents using Microsoft 365, Adobe, and SharePoint to maintain orderly and accessible files.
• Work independently within a small-firm setting while helping attorneys stay informed, prepared, and deadline-compliant.• At least 3 years of paralegal experience supporting litigation matters.
• Demonstrated success handling court calendaring with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience with electronic filing in both state and federal courts.
• Background in discovery support, including tracking deadlines and organizing case materials.
• Familiarity with civil litigation procedures and trial preparation activities.
• Proficiency with case management software and legal document tools, including Microsoft 365 and Adobe.
• Ability to manage responsibilities independently in an in-office small law firm environment.
