Pipe Foreman Experience Required: 3-5 Years Supervises and coordinates the activities of team members engaged in one or more occupations. This includes but not limited to the laying of sanitary/storm sewer pipelines. Lays pipe to form water, sewer, or storm sewer pipelines. Duties require the study of utility and utility conflict plans, setting up laser and other engineering instruments to install pipelines at proposed elevations. Must be able to interpret production schedules and comply with all federal, state, and public utility regulations including Erosion Control Laws and Regulations. Must complete the required trenching and excavation training requirements set forth by The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Core Competencies:Organizational skills and the ability to prioritizeAttention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication skills; must be able to read and speak EnglishWorking knowledge of all applicable OSHA standardsRead and interpret plans/specs/regulationsCheck/figure gradesOperate equipmentWillingness to react to changes in prioritiesCore Duties:Be punctual, dependable and professional at all timesWork with cost effectiveness, profitability and safety in mind Lead by exampleLead the safety effort by recognizing and correcting hazards as soon as they are present and being the #1 safety advocate for the crewBe a mentor to other team members by teaching them proper construction techniquesConduct daily hazard briefingComplete time sheet with pertinent info from the day's activity and submit per payroll scheduleComplete all required paperwork (daily project reports, tool box talks, delivery tickets, etc.) and submit to office weeklyCoordinate production schedule and project requirements with superintendent and/or project managersCommunicate to the crew the plan for the day prior to work beginningWork to meet daily production goals Ensure work area is safe of underground hazards before diggingCoordinate with superintendent to maintain current utility locatesInspect and inventory materials upon delivery. Report any deficiencies to the leader in charge immediatelyInspect equipment and hand tools; have deficient items repaired/replacedEnsure all backfilling around pipe and structures is completed per project plans and specsCheck all inverts and pipe slopes for accuracy according to stakes and plansTake all necessary actions to protect completed workKeep jobsite, equipment, truck and trailer neat and orderlyCommunicate time away from work with your team leader and other team members with sufficient notice to make plans for changing personnel to focus on the prioritiesTransport team members to and from jobsite as neededWillingness to work hours as required Education/Training/Certification:OSHA Supervisor TrainingTrenching and Shoring Competent PersonRiggingFirst Aid/CPRForklift * Sanford Contractors is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer* Labor Activities– Physical Requirements Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders regularly.
