We are a family-owned wood mulch manufacturing facility seeking an experienced Diesel Fleet & Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of semi-trucks, trailers, loaders, grinders, and production equipment. This is a stable, year-round position for a mechanic who enjoys a variety of work and takes pride in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.


Unlike dealership or fleet-only positions, you'll have the opportunity to work on both on-road and off-road equipment while playing a critical role in our daily manufacturing operations.


Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel-powered semi-trucks and trailers
  • Perform preventative maintenance on fleet and heavy equipment
  • Service and repair front-end loaders, grinders, conveyor systems, and other production equipment
  • Repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Perform inspections and identify potential equipment failures before breakdowns occur
  • Conduct welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications as needed
  • Respond to equipment downtime and emergency repairs when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations

  • Diesel engines and drivetrains

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, fleet mechanic, or industrial maintenance experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with heavy equipment repair and preventative maintenance
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • CDL is a plus but not required
  • Own tools necessary
