We are a family-owned wood mulch manufacturing facility seeking an experienced Diesel Fleet & Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of semi-trucks, trailers, loaders, grinders, and production equipment. This is a stable, year-round position for a mechanic who enjoys a variety of work and takes pride in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Unlike dealership or fleet-only positions, you'll have the opportunity to work on both on-road and off-road equipment while playing a critical role in our daily manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel-powered semi-trucks and trailers
- Perform preventative maintenance on fleet and heavy equipment
- Service and repair front-end loaders, grinders, conveyor systems, and other production equipment
- Repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Perform inspections and identify potential equipment failures before breakdowns occur
- Conduct welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications as needed
- Respond to equipment downtime and emergency repairs when necessary
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations

Qualifications
- 3+ years of diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, fleet mechanic, or industrial maintenance experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and troubleshooting
- Experience with heavy equipment repair and preventative maintenance
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- CDL is a plus but not required
- Own tools necessary
