You’ll blend hands‑on diagnostics with thoughtful system design to enhance safety, quality, and throughput across a highly automated operation.

The impact you’ll make
  • Own PLC/HMI lifecycle work: design tweaks, programming, commissioning, and on‑the‑fly troubleshooting (Allen‑Bradley focus).
  • Improve reliability across controls assets—PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and machine vision (Cognex/Keyence)—and verify results on the line.
  • Stand up and maintain robust remote I/O (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, or similar) and keep backups current for every device.
  • Translate P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics into practical, safe solutions that respect cost and schedule.
  • Document software/hardware changes meticulously; partner with the Network Administrator to keep the Facility Controls Network healthy.
  • Model a safety‑first mindset: uphold GMPs and Food Safety, confirm guarding, and mentor others on best practices.
  • Analyze KPIs with leadership to prioritize continuous improvement opportunities.
How you’ll grow
  • Work cross‑functionally with production, facilities, and mechanical maintenance to expand your technical breadth.
  • Lead and mentor peers in troubleshooting frameworks; deliver targeted training to operations teams.
  • Shape standards for backups, documentation, and change control in a high‑performance culture.
Qualifications
  • Deep experience with industrial automation, PLCs, HMIs, and controls; strong Allen‑Bradley proficiency.
  • HMI screen development and remote I/O configuration skills; understanding of controls up to 480V.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency; clear, collaborative communicator with strong team‑building skills.
  • Education: Technical degree in a related field, AAM graduation, or equivalent experience; High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical school/coursework is a plus.
  • Background in a food processing environment is a plus.
Schedule & conditions
  • Flexible rotating schedule (about 14 workdays per month).
  • 12‑hour night shifts on a 2‑2‑3 rotation, every other weekend.
  • Indoor environment with extended standing/walking (up to 12 hours) and occasional wet/slippery floors.
  • Relocation assistance available.
Compensation & benefits
  • Hourly rate: $32.00–$40.00, dependent on experience.
  • $2.00 PM shift differential.
  • Medical, Vision, Dental, Flexible Spending, Basic Life & AD&D, Short‑ and Long‑Term Disability, EAP, and 401(k).
  • Health benefits: eligible the 1st of the month after 60 days; 401(k): eligible after 30 days.
Core proficiencies
  • PLC troubleshooting
  • PLC programming
  • Electrical schematic reading
  • High‑voltage and industrial electrical systems
