SOCIAL SERVICES DIRECTOR
Job Description
Serves as the primary resource for resident financial benefits, insurance, and eligibility. Ensures funding sources are accurate and optimized while building trusted relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, resident-centered care in compliance with company policies and regulations.
Essential FunctionsBenefits & Financial Coordination
Primary Point of Contact: Assist residents and families with financial/benefit inquiries, Medi-Cal/Medicare, HMO/PPO plans, Social Security, and DMV documentation.
Claims & Authorization: Monitor accounts, track changes, and submit required guidelines to secure service authorizations and ensure timely claim processing.
Liaison Support: Act as the direct connection between residents, families, and government/healthcare agencies.
Payer & Policy Guidance: Explain billing policies, benefit rules, and financial requirements to families clearly and professionally.
Resident Care & Professional Conduct
Advocacy & Communication: Facilitate conflict resolution regarding eligibility/services and report any changes in resident conditions per state regulations.
Professional Standards: Maintain punctuality, professional appearance, resident privacy, and proper infection/safety protocols.
Operational Flexibility: Manage multiple priorities, complete administrative tasking/reports, and remain adaptable under pressure.
Education: High School diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Healthcare, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years in senior living, healthcare, social work, or customer service preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:
Proficiency with standard office tech, software, and electronic tools.
Knowledge of Resident Rights and mandated reporting requirements.
Strong English communication skills (Bilingual English/Spanish preferred).
Passion for working with seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Requirements: Clear physical/fit-for-duty exam and up-to-date certifications/licenses as required.
Environment: Senior living community and office settings.
Mobility: Regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Dexterity & Senses: Repetitive hand movements (typing, device use); strong visual, hearing, and mental focus required.
