Job Description:

Southern Integrated Solutions and Consulting (SISC) is searching for Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrain components

  • Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, and generators

  • Inspect equipment to identify mechanical issues and ensure safe operation

  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software

  • Perform field service repairs as needed (on-site troubleshooting and breakdown response)

  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation of work performed

  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and MSHA regulations

  • Work closely with operations and field personnel to minimize equipment downtime

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic working on heavy equipment

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics

  • Experience with CAT equipment strongly preferred (certifications a plus)

  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and software (CAT ET or similar)

  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings

  • Valid driver’s license required (CDL is a plus)

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CAT certifications or dealer-level training

  • Experience with brands such as CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, or Hitachi

  • Welding and fabrication experience

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

  • High efficiency and time management skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs

  • Ability to work damp and dark environments

  • Capable of standing, bending, kneeling, and working extended hours as needed
