Job Summary

Dietary Aides assist in preparing the dining rooms and tables, provide meal service to residents and

maintain cleanliness and sanitaƟon of dining and kitchen areas. The dietary aide will ensure full

compliance with nutriƟonal standards, internal procedures and government regulaƟons while preparing

and serving food and beverages to all residents.

Maintain Rights of Residents as set forth by the Texas Department of Health Laws and RegulaƟons.

EssenƟal FuncƟons

 Prepare meals and beverages using specific procedures.

 Serve meals using standards to maintain sanitaƟon and quality.

 Store stock appropriately to maintain cleanliness and prevent food spoilage.

 Accurately record meals served and monitor temperatures of food.

 Clean assigned dining areas using appropriate procedures.

 Wash dishes and/or utensils according to acceptable standards of pracƟce.

 Ensure compliance with sanitaƟon.

 ParƟcipate in menu planning.

 Other duƟes as assigned, with or without reasonable accommodaƟons, to assist in maintaining

quality standards and maintaining the facility as a viable and successful enƟty.

QualificaƟons

 Previous nursing home experience preferred

Physical, CogniƟve and Sensory Requirements

 Must be able to move intermiƩently throughout the workday.

 Ability to remain calm under stress.

 Must funcƟon independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effecƟvely

with residents, personnel, and support agencies.

 Ability to demonstrate paƟence, tact, courtesy, enthusiasm, and a posiƟve aƫtude.

 Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emoƟonally upset, and at Ɵmes

hosƟle residents within the facility.

 Ability to read and write in English.

 Must be able to liŌ and transfer a minimum of 50 pounds.

 Be professional, supporƟve, and kind to internal and external consƟtuents

 Remain loyal and confidenƟal to staff, residents, and owner

 Keep the corporate office apprised of situaƟons that could negaƟvely impact the

facility

 Ensure only posiƟve informaƟon is menƟoned to all contacts of the facility, prospecƟve

residents, staff, sales staff, and inspecƟon teams, etc.

 Any expenses over $500 dollars are to be reported and approved by the owner.
