This unique position is ideal for someone who enjoys caring for children, values building meaningful relationships, and wants to positively impact a student's daily life.As a Pediatric Care Attendant, you will become an important part of the student's educational experience by promoting independence, ensuring safety, providing personal care, and supporting participation throughout the school day. You will work alongside teachers and licensed nursing staff to help the student remain engaged, comfortable, and successful in the classroom.If you are compassionate, dependable, patient, and passionate about helping children live their fullest lives, we would love to meet you.Position SummaryThe Pediatric Care Attendant provides individualized, non-clinical support for one assigned student during the school day. Under the direction of a licensed nurse, the Pediatric Care Attendant assists with activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, personal hygiene, classroom participation, meals, and school activities while maintaining the student's dignity, safety, and independence.Job Duties Include (but are not limited to):Provide one-to-one support for an assigned student throughout the school day.Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, incontinence care, changing soiled clothing, hand hygiene, and personal care.Safely assist with wheelchair mobility, transfers, and classroom transitions.Escort the student throughout the school campus, including classrooms, cafeteria, playground, and school activities.Assist with meal setup, feeding, and hydration as needed.Encourage the student's independence while providing compassionate support.Observe and promptly report any changes in the student's physical or emotional condition to the supervising school nurse.Support participation during classroom instruction and school-sponsored activities, including approved field trips and assemblies.Maintain accurate documentation as required.Follow individualized care plans and infection prevention procedures.Collaborate professionally with teachers, school staff, therapists, and Care Eleven Health team members.Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).Experience working with children is preferred.Experience as a caregiver, home health aide, direct support professional (DSP), paraprofessional, medical assistant, certified nursing assistant (CNA), or similar role preferred.Experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities or special healthcare needs is highly preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.Dependable, compassionate, patient, and team oriented.Physical Requirements:Ability to assist with lifting, transferring, repositioning, and wheelchair mobility using safe body mechanics.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and move throughout the school Ability to respond appropriately during emergencies.
