About Our Client:

Addison Group is hiring on behalf of our client, a well-established legal practice seeking an experienced Paralegal to support attorneys in a high-volume and fast-paced environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive legal matters with professionalism and discretion.

Job Description:

The Paralegal will provide comprehensive administrative and case support to attorneys, assisting with document preparation, case management, client communication, and court-related processes. This position plays a critical role in ensuring cases are handled efficiently and deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, format, and edit legal documents, correspondence, and case materials.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
  • Assist with client intake, conflict checks, and case opening/closing procedures.
  • Manage attorney calendars, including court dates, hearings, meetings, travel, and deadlines.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and relaying information between attorneys and clients.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing communications including emails, phone calls, and legal correspondence.
  • Track deadlines, court schedules, and case milestones using internal systems and reminder tools.
  • Assist with billing support, expense tracking, and preparation of pre-bills and reimbursements.
  • Communicate with courts, agencies, financial institutions, and external partners as needed.
  • Support case preparation and ensure attorneys are organized and prepared for hearings and meetings.
  • Perform additional administrative and case management duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of paralegal or legal assistant experience in a law firm environment.
  • Criminal defense experience strongly preferred; litigation experience will also be considered.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Typing speed of 60+ WPM with strong accuracy.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and dependable work style.
