ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:

Operation PAR, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of services for individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders.  PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical services, and research.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Entry level client serving position for individuals with limited counseling skills and/or experience. Behavioral Health Techs provide direct supervision of clients and responsibility for the health, safety and security of clients assigned; transport clients in approved agency vehicles. Under appropriate supervision, may provide information and education to clients in a group setting. Techs work assigned shifts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma / GED required
  • One year of experience working in the field of behavioral health preferred


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Must pass level II background (https://info.flclearinghouse.com) and drug screen
  • Must be cleared by PAR auto insurance carrier to operate PAR vehicles
  • Must maintain a driving record that meets agency insurance standards
  • Successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review is required prior to final employment approval
  • Must maintain current training as required by Operation PAR, Inc. policies


ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to write accurately and legibly
  • Moderate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows-based computers
  • Ability to accurately type at least 40 words per minute.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach
  • Ability to sit in meetings for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move throughout program facilities both indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds
  • Good hearing and vision
