About the Role:
As a Cashier in the accommodation and food services industry, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a smooth and efficient transaction process. Your role is critical in maintaining customer satisfaction by accurately handling payments, providing friendly service, and addressing customer inquiries promptly. You will manage the cash register and point of sale systems to process purchases, returns, and exchanges while maintaining accurate cash balances. Additionally, you will support the overall cleanliness and organization of the work environment, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. Your ability to work a flexible schedule and perform physical tasks such as lifting and janitorial duties will help maintain operational efficiency and customer service excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in cashiering or customer service roles.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
- Ability to operate cash registers and point of sale systems.
- Capability to perform repetitive motions and physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the accommodation and food services industry.
- Familiarity with janitorial duties and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Operate cash registers and point of sale systems to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide information about products and services.
- Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment while ensuring the accuracy of transactions and maintaining balanced cash drawers.
- Perform janitorial duties to keep the checkout area clean, organized, and safe for customers and staff.
- Assist with lifting and carrying heavy items as needed to support stock replenishment and store maintenance.
- Manage phone etiquette by answering calls professionally and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs.
